Samantha Sorensen

Sam is a scholar-activist who holds a B.A. in English from Immaculata University and an M.A. in English from Villanova University, where she wrote her thesis, "'We are gathered here today because we are not gathered somewhere else today': Slam Poetry and Political Solidarity." Her research interests largely lie in 20th century fiction and specifically include contemporary black poetics, slam poetry, hip hop culture and rap music, Latinx studies, Nuyorican poetics, and decolonial theory. She's also interested in philosophy of mind and eastern philosophy.
